ATHLETIC INFORMATION SHEET
The following information will guide you on what is necessary to participate in Maverick Athletics:
1. In order to participate in any of our athletic programs each student-athlete must complete our FHSAA medical packet, which includes a physical dated after May 15, 2007, a parental permission form and a copy of your health insurance card. This physical is separate from the immunization forms necessary to start school. Incomplete medical packs will not be accepted and will delay the student-athlete’s opportunity to tryout for their sport. PLEASE NOTE: The physical is only good for one year, not one school year.
2. All important sports information such as tryout dates and times, basketball, soccer, baseball and volleyball camps, and much more will be found in our school’s monthly newsletter, which is sent to your house via the mail.

4. Below is a list of starting dates for both varsity and junior varsity teams as well as
the coach’s name and extension (School phone number 434-8820) if you should
have any questions. (Please Note: As of this printing starting dates for all sports
has yet to be finalized by the FHSAA. There will be a meeting for all those
interested in athletics on May 15th in The Maverick Gym beginning at 7:00 p.m.)

PLEASE NOTE: Starting dates for some sports may change since the FHSAA hasn’t approved a calendar for next year as of this printing. It’s important to keep track of any changes by reading the monthly/bimonthly newsletters. If you miss the starting date it may cost you a chance of being there for tryouts. There will be a meeting for all those interested in participating in a sport on May 15th in The Mavericks Gym beginning at 7:00 p.m.
GOLF TEAM : Informational meeting is scheduled for July 30th at 6:00 p.m. in the school’s pavilion.
SWIMMING: Practices Start at 3:00 p.m. and are held at Pine
Island Pool located at 3800 SW 92 Avenue, Davie.
- First date & time of swimming practice: 8/6/07 at 3:00 p.m.
-Transportation to our off campus practices are the responsibility of each student-athlete. Buses will be provided for all swim meets and matches
against opposing teams.
CHEERLEADING: Tryouts are scheduled for this May 21st through the 23rd from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you have any questions please contact Coach Chriswisser.
DANCE: Tryouts are scheduled for May 21st to May 23, 2007 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in room 116.
