Carl Phillips graduated from (Miami) Dade Christian School in 1988. He also attended the University of Southern Mississippi on a golf scholarship and was a 4-year letterman. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel & Restaurant Administration with minors in Coaching and Sports Administration and Business Management in May of 1993. After college he turned professional and played on various mini-tours and also a local golf professional at a few courses around south Florida.
Coach Phillips took over the boys golf team in 2003 and in the next year he started the girls team from scratch. He has made the golf program at Archbishop McCarthy one of the top programs in broward county.

Assistant Boys Coach: Henry Portela
In his second season as assistant coach he has proved time and time again that he is a leader and knowing that the team is in good hands when he is around. Coach Portela also
serves as an assistant basketball coach and has been with Archbishop McCarthy since 2000.
Assistant Girls Coach: Michelle Davis
After serving as the team Mom the last two years she was noticed as being a great asset to the team and was promoted to assistant coach in 2007. She is also the mother of Diana Davis who is one of the co-captains for the girls team.
