The policy of the Archdiocese of Miami concerning weather closings is that our Catholic schools will close when the public school system of Broward County closes. Since the effects of storms are different for each school our Catholic schools do not need to remain closed for the same amount of time as the public schools. If we feel that it is safe to reopen; that there is electricity, water, and it is safe for students to travel to school, Archbishop McCarthy will reopen. If possible Archbishop McCarthy families will be notified by (BEN) the automated response system. Families should first call the school for information. If that system Is not working, consult Edline and the school website. Announcements concerning our individual situation will also be provided to the local media (radio, television, newspapers)
