AMHS Veterans Day Ceremonies
November 9th

In honor of Americans who have served in the United States Military Archbishop McCarthy High School, 5451 S Flamingo Rd-Southwest Ranches, the SOT - Support Our Troops club has scheduled a variety of activities for the AMHS Veterans Day Celebration throughout the week of November 9th.

Agenda
Flag Ceremony November 9th:  6:30a.m. Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Cadets will conduct Flag Ceremony in the front garden.  Cadets will wear their camouflage uniforms for the day.  Civil Air Patrol is a national search and rescue organization and an auxiliary of the USAF.

Campus Flag Placement November 9th: 6:45am. SOT will place flags around campus, which will be removed at the end of the day.    SOT previously placed large flags throughout the campus which will remain in place through Friday November 14th.  

Patriotic Music November 10th:   Beginning at 11:00a.m. Patriotic music will be played in the “mess hall” Student Center during lunch.

Prayer Book – week long: Campus Ministry will provide a prayer book for remembering family and friends who are and were veterans.   The prayer book will be set up in the main hallway from November 9th through November 13th.

POW/MIA Display- week long:   The Civil Air Patrol will host a POW/MIA display in the Student Center all week. 
                            
Readings November 9th:  Beginning at 8:45am. Veteran’s prayer and moment of silence - A member of SOT will read the list of AMHS alumni who are currently enlisted, to be read during morning announcements.

Video:  A Patriotic video tribute will be aired over the AMHS broadcast system.
 There are no classes on Wednesday, November 11th in honor of Veterans Day.
 Lieutenant Colonel G.J. Cosgrove, M.M.A.(Retired)Special Forces who teaches Political Science, Business and Economics is the liaison for the Support Our Troops (SOT) and the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Clubs.
