EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION

REVEREND BRENDAN DALTON, PRESIDENT/SUPERVISING PRINCIPAL

Fr. Dalton is the new Supervising Principal. Fr. Dalton is currently the pastor at St. Bernadette Parish. He was one of the original and most ardent supporters from the inception of the dream to build a Catholic High School in South Broward. Fr. Dalton celebrates over 35 years of ordination to the priesthood. Father has served in many other parishes including Visitation, Epiphany, St. Matthews, St. Bartholomew, Sacred Heart and St. Gregory. Fr. Dalton was born in County Kerry, Ireland. He studied at St. John’s Seminary in Waterford and was ordained in 1969. We thank Fr. Dalton for sharing his ministry and talents with us. .

Reverend Kris Bartos, AP for Christian Formation- ext. 229

After his years of service at St. Brendan High School, Fr. Bartos serves as Assistant Principal for Christian Formation at Archbishop McCarthy High School. As well as his administration duties and teaching Theology, he is a member of the Campus Ministry team and plans to say daily Mass for our students. He received his B.A. from Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit, a Masters in Divinity from St. John Provincial Seminary and earned his Masters degree in Education from Boston College. Fr. Bartos is in residence at St. Boniface parish.

Mr. Thomas Greene, AP for Student Personnel & Administration- ext. 221

Mr. Greene has been involved in teaching and administration for the Archdiocese of Miami schools for over 20 years. He is the Assistant Principal for Student Personnel & Administration, and Plant Manager. Mr. Greene earned his B.A. degree in Fine Arts from Florida Atlantic University and his M.S. degree in Educational Leadership from Barry University. He is a member of St. Mark parish.

Mrs. Blanco is the Director of the Guidance Dept. and serves the 11th & 12th graders (M-Z) for college planning and guidance. She earned her B.A. degree in Psychology from City College and her M.A. degree in Guidance from St. Thomas University. She has over 20 years of experience in Catholic education, from Our Lady of Lakes, St. Thomas Aquinas & AMHS. She is a member of Mother of Our Redeemer.

Mr. Lawrence Boes, Student Activities Director - ext. 236

Mr. Boes is the Director of Student Activities, teaches in the Social Studies department, and the moderator of I.C.C. Club & SGA. He received his B.S. and M.Ed. degrees in Education from the University of Pittsburgh. He has been teaching for over 30 years, more than 10 years in Catholic schools. He is a member of Blessed Sacrament parish.

Mr. Castillo is the Director of Campus Ministry after serving as the department chairperson of the Theology Department. He teaches Philosophy Honors, American Mosaic, and World Religions. He earned his B.A. degree in International Relations from Florida International University, his M.A. degree is in Theology from St. Vincent de Paul, and is currently working on a Doctoral degree from Barry University. After working for more than 25 years in the Catholic education, Mr. Massaro as served as our Athletic Director from the beginning and oversees the Booster Club. He earned his M.A. degree in Physical Education from Nova-Southeastern University. He is a member of St. David parish.

Ms. Henderson is the Director of Media and Library Services and teaches French in the Foreign Language department. She is also the moderator of the French Honor Society and of the Tech/Media Club. Ms. Henderson earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and her masters in French from Florida Atlantic University, and her masters in Library & Information Science from the University of South Florida. She has fifteen years of experience at both the high school and college level. Her parish is Our Lady Queen of Martyrs.

Mrs. Zocco joins our Business Education and Technologies department. She has been teaching in the Catholic Schools for over 13 years.  Mrs. Zocco earned her Bachelor's Degree in Information and Technology & Sciences from Florida Atlantic University, her Master's in Arts in Education & Technology at Nova Southeastern University and is currently pursuing her PhD at Florida Atlantic University in Education & Technology.  Mrs. Zocco is also a Major in the Civil Air Patrol and the assistant club moderator of the Support Our Troops Club. Mrs. Cindy Keegan - -ext. 387

Mrs Keegan is the artistic director at AMHS. She has been involved in the theatre for over 30 years and has acted in and directed school, community and professional shows. She is the writer and director of the production “CyberMare” which explores internet bullying and it consequences. “Cyber Mare” can be seen at AMHS. One of Mrs. Keegan’s goal is to work with students of any age and instill in them the same love and passion she has for the theater, and teach them the discipline and dedication it takes to put on a quality show.

Mr. Bertolone is our 9th-10th Grader (A-L) Guidance Counselor with over 10 years at AMHS. He earned his B.A. degree in Communications & his M.A. degree in Guidance & Counseling from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. He began working in Catholic education in 1977 at Chaminade. Coach Bert is the Head Wrestling and, Freshman Football Coach in addition to the assistant Girl’s Flag Football Coach. He also serves as the Faculty Liaison for the school student fundraising drive. Mrs. Kohrt is a member of Theology dept, teaching Western Civilization, Issues in Humanities, Social Justice and Peer Counseling. She has been working in the schools of the Archdiocese of Miami as a teacher and principal for fifteen years. Mrs. Kohrt earned her B.A. degree in Education from Carroll College and her M.A. in Educational Leadership from Nova University. She has also completed the Archdiocese of Miami Catechist Certification Program. She is also a member of the Campus Ministry program as a moderator of the Peace/Justice Club, as well as Amor en Accion. Mr. Spencer previously served as the head football coach at Mariner High School in Cape Coral and St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Mrs. Cobourne joins our Mathematics department and will be teaching Algebra I and II. She has thirteen years of teaching experience in Jamaica and Nassau. Mrs. Cobourne received both her Bachelors and Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from Central Connecticut State University.

Ms. Ferrier is a member of the Math dept. teaching Algebra A/B, Algebra I Honors, and Algebra II Honors. She is also the moderator for National Merit. Ms. Ferrier earned her B.A. degree in Mathematics from the University of Rhode Island then her M.S. degree in education from Florida International University. She is a member of St. Francis of Assisi parish.

Mr. Mark Saxton - ext. 372

Mr. Saxton teaches Algebra II and Calculus Honors in the Math department. He is the Head Varsity Boys; Basketball Coach and assistant Varsity Volleyball coach. He earned his bachelors degree in Math Education from Slippery Rock University and M.A. degree in Education Leadership from Florida Atlantic University. He has worked in Catholic high schools for eigthteen years & is a member of St. David parish.

Mr. John Timmins - ext .231

Mr. Timmins will be teaching in the Mathematics department and is also be our head varsity Football coach. He has been teaching for sixteen years at both Palm Beach Central High School & St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Mr. Timmins earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Mathematics from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. He and his family are members of Holy Name of Jesus parish.

Dr. Torres has taught in Catholic education for thirty-seven years. At AMHS, she is the Science dept. Chairperson, teaches Biology & Biology Honors and moderator of the Brain Bee/Science Club. Dr. Torres earned her B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico and her masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction from The City University of Seattle Washington. Mrs. Arango teaches Biology I and Environment Science. She earned her B.S. in Biology from Union Institute and Florida International University. Mrs. Arango has taught in Dade County for nine years. She is also the moderator of the Environmental Club. Her parish is St. Bernadette Parish.

Mrs. Calder is a member of the Science dept. and teaches Chemistry Honors and AP Biology. She is also the moderator for the Pre-Med Club & Friends of the Animals. She earned her bachelors degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Miami. Mrs. Calder taught in Dade County for eleven years and was named “Teacher of the Year” for our school, then in 2000 was named “Science Teacher of the Year” for Dade County. While teaching at AMHS she was presented with the Deaver Award for outstanding teaching in 2005.

Mrs. Diaz is a member of the Science department and teaches Biology and Anatomy & Physiology. She is also the head coach for the women’s softball team and the assistant coach for volleyball. She received her BS degree from Barry University and completed graduate studies at Florida Memorial University in Education. Her parish is Our Lady of the Lakes.

Mr. Giacobbe teaches Anatomy and Anatomy Honors in the Science Department. He is also the strength coach. He earned his bachelors degree in Physiology from the University of Miami and M. Ed from Auburn University. Mr. Giacobbe received the prestigious “Deaver Award” in 2003 and “Teacher of the Year” in 1999. He is a member of St. Bernadette parish.

Mr. Ho is a member of the Science department and Physical Education department. He is also the Athletic Trainer for all sports. He will be teaching Anatomy, Biology II and a course related to Athletic Trainers.
